A sonic celebration of Black alt artistry and the beauty of becoming.
Blair is a Detroit-born alternative artist shaped by the city’s rich musical legacy and her family’s deep-rooted ties to Motown and rock. Studying at Howard University’s Fine Arts department, she sharpened her storytelling craft, blending classical training with raw emotion. Post-graduation, she carved out her own sound—writing, composing, and collaborating with a powerhouse team of creatives such as Chinoo.xo and Dj Noble who have helped bring her vision to life.
Her debut EP, Confessions of a Grown Up Drama Queen, dropping late summer, is a bold fusion of punk rock, alternative indie, soft rock and psychedelic frequencies, pushing the boundaries of soft rock through a unique lens. As a Black artist, Blair is dedicated to carving space in genres where diverse voices are often overlooked. With her sonic architects Chinoo.xo and DJ Noble, they have built an immersive world of gritty authenticity and genre-defying soundscapes. This project explores the nuanced thoughts and emotional shifts that accompany age milestones. Blair aims to breathe excitement into the coming-of-age experience, reframing it as a powerful transformation rather than something to dread. Through this work, she highlights the intricacies of growth and the beauty found in life’s in-between stages.
Beyond the music, Blair’s visuals bridge the gap between artistry and experience. Creative director Lex Lanes weaves her Y2K-inspired narrative into stunning aesthetics, while Kade Films transforms Catch Me If You Can into a multi-scene cinematic moment, set to begin rollling out this spring. Every layer of this project pulses with intention—an unfiltered coming-of-age story that amplifies the voices of Black and brown artists beyond the mainstream.
While fine-tuning her craft and performing everywhere in anticipation of her debut, Blair is incredibly passionate about advocating for arts education accessibility for marginalized youth. She's getting her Master's in Education Policy at American University while traveling the world, proposing real policy changes that affect children's access to arts education. For Blair, the arts shouldn't be a luxury but simply part of life. She celebrates that without the arts, she wouldn't be where she is today.
